The goal...raise $6,600 in 66 Days to support the Cosmosphere Annual Fund, which funds the general operations of the Cosmosphere.
The inspiration...Camp! Because it's one of the super cool things we do here and it's made possible in part through gifts to the Cosmosphere Annual Fund.
So join us as we celebrate Cosmosphere Camps!
It began in 1985 as the Future Astronaut Training Program. Now, we simply call the 16 camps offered to six-year-olds to adults, Cosmosphere Camp. Something about them that hasn't changed...they change a lot of lives for the better. This year, around 1,000 campers will come from at least 34 states (will let you know the final representation at the conclusion of camp) to experience something they won't find anywhere else on Earth.
Past Cosmosphere Camp alumni agree that this unique place in the heart of the heartland equipped them to be better at everything they do. Some of them were inspired to go to work with NASA, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Aerospace Corporations or SpaceX. Some of them became pilots, college professors or healthcare professionals. Some say the Cosmosphere experience helped them learn to be better teammates, better parents and better problem solvers.
Regardless of where the dreams lead, a summer at the Cosmosphere helps launch them!
Join us! to count down the 66 Days of Camp and count the ways your Annual Fund support helps to spark imagination and launch dreams.
We're at T-Minus 66 Days!
What's $10 worth at the Cosmosphere? How about a 5 lb. box of modeling clay for Lunar Base Camp.
What will you do with $20 this summer? At the Cosmosphere, that could translate to super cool mask supplies for Alien Adventure Camp!
Each year, about 150 campers experience scuba training with Space 201 at a cost of around $45 each.
Camp food, you've got to love it! It takes about $85 to feed one camper for a week.
T-shirts from past Cosmosphere Camps have been spotted decades later in some pretty cool places. $90 means 15 campers will be sporting nifty camp shirts of their own this summer.
Spending the night in the museum isn't just a story! If you're a fourth or fifth grader, it's the thrill of Alien Adventure Camp. Three days. One overnight. $169 that ignites the lift off of learning and summer fun.
What will it take to make a Mars habitat come together? For the Mars Habitat at the Cosmosphere, this year's list of supplies came in at almost exactly $200! Just another little out-of-this-world thing your money might support when you help fund the operations of a place as cool as the Cosmosphere!
The Rocket Launch. A quintessential Cosmosphere Camp experience. It takes $2,010 to supply a summer's worth of rockets for the Space 101. Your support will help us continue to make dreams take flight at the Cosmosphere.
